Why Lanna Timeworks

What Sets Our Workshop Apart

Written Estimates First

No work begins without your written approval. You see the scope and cost before we touch the movement.

Non-Invasive Assessment

Every piece begins with a careful inspection, not disassembly. We assess before we open — your watch is handled minimally until work is agreed.

Photo Updates

For refurbishment and overhaul work, owners receive periodic photographs documenting the progress. No silence for weeks at a time.

Patina Respected

Original wear marks, dial aging, and case character are preserved wherever possible. We do not over-polish or strip history from a piece.

Specialist Parts Stock

We keep uncommon battery sizes, vintage gaskets, and caliber-specific components on hand — reducing delays for older or less common pieces.

Condition Reports

Chronograph overhauls are returned with a written report covering work carried out, components replaced, and timing results across positions.

Have a Watch That Needs Attention?

Bring it in, or describe it to us first. We are happy to discuss any piece before you commit to anything. Our workshop is open Monday through Saturday.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Do you provide an estimate before starting any work?
Yes, always. We carry out a non-invasive assessment first and then provide a written estimate covering all anticipated work and costs. Nothing proceeds until you have reviewed and agreed in writing. There is no charge for the initial assessment.
How long does a vintage refurbishment take?
Most vintage wristwatches stay with us for five to eight weeks. The exact timeline depends on the condition of the movement, the availability of any specialist parts, and the scope of case work requested. We will give you a working estimate once we have assessed the piece, and we send photo updates at key stages.
What calibers do you work with for chronograph overhauls?
We work with Valjoux and Lemania movements as our primary focus, along with selected in-house calibers where documentation is available. If you are unsure whether your chronograph falls within our scope, describe it to us first — we will be straightforward about what we can and cannot take on.
Will you polish the case of my vintage watch?
Only if you ask us to, and only to the degree you specify. Our default is to clean and detail the case while preserving its original wear marks and surface character. Many collectors prefer their pieces to retain honest age — we share that view, and we will not over-polish without your direction.
Can I send my watch from outside Chiang Mai?
Yes. We receive pieces from across Thailand and occasionally from abroad. We recommend using a tracked, insured shipping service and notifying us before dispatch so we can confirm receipt arrangements. Please contact us first to discuss the best approach for your piece.
How are my personal details handled?
Contact details provided for repair enquiries are used only to communicate about your piece and are not shared with third parties. Our full Privacy Policy is available on this site.
